Who is responsible

What we collect

When you request a free extract, we process the email address you provide and, if supplied, your name. The request is used to deliver the extract. If you do not separately opt in to the newsletter, your details are not added to the newsletter list.

When you subscribe to the newsletter, we process your email address, optional name, subscription status, language/list choice, consent and confirmation records, and technical information necessary to operate and protect the service.

Newsletter and engagement data

Newsletter subscription is voluntary and based on your consent. We use double opt-in, so your subscription is activated only after you confirm it by email.

Our newsletters may contain a small tracking image and tracked links. When enabled for a subscribed recipient, these allow us to record whether an edition was opened and which editorial links were clicked. We use this engagement data to understand what resonates and improve future editions. We do not use it to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

You can withdraw your newsletter consent at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it was withdrawn.

Legal bases

We process free-extract requests because you asked us to provide that service. Newsletter delivery and newsletter engagement measurement are based on consent. Security, abuse prevention, bounce handling and sender-reputation controls may be processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable service. Where necessary, data may also be processed to comply with legal obligations.

Cookies and website analytics

The ANDAMAS Publications website currently does not load optional advertising or behavioural analytics cookies. Only functionality that is technically necessary for the site and its forms is used. Newsletter open and click measurement takes place in the emails you have chosen to receive and is described separately above.

Service providers and international processing

Newsletter data is managed through our self-hosted Listmonk installation. Infrastructure and email delivery involve service providers acting on our behalf, including hosting and mail-delivery providers such as OVHcloud, GreenGeeks and its outbound relay infrastructure.

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, the relevant provider is expected to rely on an applicable adequacy mechanism or appropriate safeguards under data-protection law. You may contact us for further information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

Bounces, complaints and deliverability

We process delivery failures, hard and soft bounces, and spam complaints to protect sender reputation and avoid repeatedly sending mail to addresses that cannot or should not receive it. Hard bounces and complaints may result in the subscriber being blocklisted.

How long we keep data

Free-extract request data is used only as needed to fulfil the request unless you also subscribe to the newsletter. Newsletter data is retained while your subscription is active. After you unsubscribe, we may retain limited subscription, consent, suppression or delivery records for as long as reasonably necessary to document compliance, honour your opt-out and protect the service. Engagement and delivery data follows the lifecycle of the subscriber record unless a longer period is required for legal claims or compliance.

Children and young users

The newsletter is intended for people aged 14 or over. In Spain, a person under 14 cannot independently provide consent for this type of personal-data processing; a parent or legal guardian must provide the relevant consent on their behalf.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time. Contact newsletter@andamas.agency to exercise these rights.
